The best calendar apps for Mac aren't all trying to replace Apple Calendar. Some just want to show you today's schedule faster, or tie your notes to the days they belong to. Here's what each type is for, and the pick in each.
Apple Calendar is fine — until it isn't
The built-in app syncs reliably and shows a month. Where it falls short: creating events is slow (too many clicks), it has no natural-language entry, and it can't group calendars into contexts like "work" and "personal" that you toggle as a set.
