Diskscape

UtilitiesFree · per month, Mac App Store. Scanning stays free $4.99by serdaroztetik.com

Your whole disk as one treemap. The biggest folder is the biggest box, and node_modules, DerivedData and caches are found and totalled.

Diskscape draws your whole disk, or any folder, as one map. The biggest folder is the biggest box, so whatever is eating your space is the first thing you see. No lists to sort, no digging through menus.

  • Fast. About 200,000 files a second. A whole 500 GB Mac with 5.6 million files maps in about 30 seconds.
  • Worth a look. node_modules, Xcode DerivedData, iOS DeviceSupport, simulator caches, Gradle caches, virtualenvs and build output are found, grouped and totalled in one list.
  • Numbers that match Finder. Decimal GB, hard links counted once, and APFS firmlinks deduplicated, so the data volume is not counted twice.
  • Cloud folders don't hang the scan. iCloud Drive and Google Drive live on someone else's server, so they are left out and labelled.
  • Colour by type or by age, count by files instead of bytes, Reveal in Finder, and Move to Trash straight from the map.
  • Back and forward history that returns exactly where you were, on the mouse side buttons too.

Native Swift and SwiftUI, sandboxed, and nothing about your files leaves your Mac.

Scanning and browsing are free for good. The first seven days you use it, everything is unlocked. After that, Move to Trash needs a subscription.
