An open-source Mac menu bar app that lets AI agents work with native apps, files, terminal and browsers.

Mac MCP is an MIT-licensed local macOS MCP server with a native SwiftUI menu bar controller. It connects AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and OpenCode to the apps, files, terminal and Safari/Chrome tabs on your own Mac.
The menu bar app provides status, access controls, permissions, approvals and agent activity while the MCP server handles tool calls. Browser automation supports background interaction without taking focus, and native app operations use macOS Accessibility. It is a real, actively maintained Mac app, not a browser wrapper.
Mac MCP runs under the signed-in Mac account's permissions; it is not a sandbox. Access to sensitive data should be limited through its permission controls, and data shared with AI clients may reach their model providers.
