Ribbon

Ribbon is a scrolling window manager for macOS. All your windows sit in one long horizontal row across the desktop, and you flick between them with a three-finger trackpad swipe or the arrow keys. Nothing ever shrinks and nothing gets covered, so a spreadsheet stays a spreadsheet and a video keeps playing while you work in the window next to it.

There is a live interactive demo right on the site, so you can feel the swipe in your browser before downloading anything. Setup is guided, and the app warns you if a three-finger swipe is already doing something else on your Mac.

$15 once. No subscription, no account, no installer. 7-day free trial, full refund within 10 days if it is not for you. macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon. The download is a signed and notarized DMG.
