Picmal is a native macOS app for converting and compressing media without uploading anything to a website. Drop in hundreds of files and let it batch them in the time an online converter would still be uploading.

What it does

  • Convert between 100+ formats across images, video, audio, RAW and PDF (HEIC to JPG, MOV to MP4, FLAC to ALAC)
  • Compress files to fit email or upload limits without a visible quality drop
  • Split, merge and reorder PDFs, or turn a folder of photos into a PDF
  • Combine, download and watermark videos; merge and split audio by chapters
  • Crop, cut out subjects with on-device Vision, trace logos to SVG, and build full icon sets
  • Watch a folder and convert or compress whatever lands in it automatically
  • Strip or edit metadata such as GPS, camera model and timestamps
  • Fits your workflow: Finder, Shortcuts, Raycast, a command line tool, and clipboard compression for screenshots
